Welcome to the Clemens side of the family. I
will be putting all the information I can find about my Clemens ancestors
here. If you have any information on this side of my family, please contact
me to fill in the gaps.
Background:
The Clemens
line is an older American line. Some of my more interesting ancestors
include Charles Clemens who was an officer in the Civil War. When my
grandmother died, we inherited a box of letters that he sent home to his
family during that conflict. I hope to have those published here
before long.
Also in this line is the
Robertson line (my Grandmother's mother's family). They were fortunate
to be in the coal business (and higher up in that business). Their
wealth allowed my Grandmother to not have to worry about money. Must
have been nice.
It is also rumored that
connected in this family line is the Shoemaker family; specifically one of
the Shoemakers that first identified/ developed anthracite coal.

note that although I have done some analysis on these documents. Some of them may have NOTHING to do with my ancestors.
